Orly Airport to Paris: every option compared

Orly is the closest airport to central Paris — just 18 km south. That proximity gives you real choices, so here is what each one actually costs in time, money and effort.

Metro Line 14 — the new direct line

Since 2024, Metro Line 14 runs from Orly directly into the city in about 25–30 minutes for roughly €13. It's fast and frequent — but it's still the metro: stairs, rush-hour crowds, and a walk or connection at the other end with your suitcases. Fine with a backpack; a workout with a family's luggage.

OrlyBus

The OrlyBus runs to Denfert-Rochereau for about €12, taking 30–40 minutes, then you connect onward. Cheap, reliable, unremarkable — same luggage caveats as the metro.

Taxi flat fare

Official taxis from Orly charge a regulated flat fare — around €37 to the Left Bank and €45 to the Right Bank, per ride. Reasonable pricing, but you queue at the rank with everyone else, and nobody is watching your delayed flight.

Private transfer — booked, tracked, waiting

A pre-booked private transfer from Orly costs €69 for up to 3 passengers or €99 for up to 7 — per vehicle, tolls and waiting included. Your driver monitors the flight and meets you at arrivals with a name sign; Orly 1-2-3 and Orly 4 both covered. For groups and families it beats two taxis, and for 6 am departures it beats everything.

Which one for you?

Solo, one bag, daytime: Metro 14 is genuinely good now. Two or more people, real luggage, a hotel away from Line 14, an early departure or late arrival: a private Orly transfer costs a few euros more than a taxi and removes every unknown from the trip.
